State Development Strategies

State Development Strategies

The role of the State Development Strategies Group is to provide strategic advice and analysis on the development of the State’s economy.  It encompasses work at a whole-of-department, portfolio and whole-of-government level. 

The Group fulfils this role through providing leadership in State Strategic Development:

  • Mapping and understanding our economy to identify development opportunities and trends
  • Providing economic analysis to assist business and government in decision-making
  • Effective advocacy for responsible industry and resource development of the state
  • Developing and managing integrated whole-of-government policies and strategies that identify and facilitate development opportunities for the state
  • Coordinating State strategic development issues across the department
  • This work complements the activities of the key business groups in operational policy, industry development and trade and investment facilitation.

The Group comprises of the following teams:

  • Trade and Services
  • Industry (Resources and Manufacturing)
  • Telecommunications and Infrastructure 
  • Innovation Economy
